This barren land, though thrilling, can test your patience, courage\u2014and sometimes even your luck\u2014without warning. Scattered across this desolate expanse are the stirring tales of valor, determination, and patriotism of India\u2019s brave soldiers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"1406\">Welcome to Nelang Valley in Uttarkashi district, adjacent to the India-China border. Now, through the lens of battlefield tourism, you too can experience the thrill of this war-zone. This unique initiative is called <em data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1004\">\u2018Ranbhoomi Darshan\u2019<\/em>. As part of the scheme, the central government, in collaboration with the Army, has selected 77 \u2018Shaurya Sthal\u2019 (valor sites) across eight states, including Uttarakhand. Soon, tourists will be able to visit border areas ranging from Gunji in Uttarakhand to the remote Galwan Valley in Ladakh. The project is expected to launch by September, starting in Sikkim, where preparations are underway.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1408\" data-end=\"1782\">In the first phase, to introduce civilians to India\u2019s military heritage, sites like Doklam and Chola in Sikkim will be opened to the public. Work on amenities like parking, toilets, and waiting lounges is in its final stages. Initially, 25\u201330 vehicles will be allowed at each site per day, which may be increased to 50 later.
