Kedarnath Yatra resumes :\u00a0 Kedarnath Yatra Resumes After Landslide, Pilgrims Face 22 km Trek<\/p>\n

Kedarnath Yatra resumes : Rudraprayag, 2 August 2025:<\/b> After a three-day suspension, the Kedarnath Yatra has finally been restored. However, pilgrims will now have to trek 22 kilometers to reach Kedarnath Dham. The reason is that they will have to walk from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, a distance of about six kilometers. Gaurikund is one of the main stops on the Kedarnath route. Normally, pilgrims would begin their 16-kilometer trek from there.<\/p>\n

The disruption occurred on the evening of July 29, when a landslide just 1.5 kilometers from Gaurikund destroyed a 50- to 60-meter stretch of the highway and the pedestrian path. While repair work is ongoing, an alternative walking path has been built between Sonprayag and Gaurikund.<\/p>\n

On Saturday morning, pilgrims began their journey to Kedarnath using this new route. The administration has stated that travel may be temporarily halted for safety reasons if it rains.
