New Delhi (PB): In view of heavy rainfall and landslide-like conditions, a major decision has been taken regarding the Amarnath Yatra. The pilgrimage has been temporarily suspended from both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. Officials have advised pilgrims to remain at their respective base camps until the weather improves and the routes are deemed safe for travel. Pilgrims will now proceed only once conditions become favorable.
So far, during the 2025 Amarnath Yatra, over 2.47 lakh devotees have visited the holy cave located at an altitude of 3,880 meters. This is the first time this year that the pilgrimage from Jammu has been halted for an entire day. Since the Yatra began on July 3, over 2.35 lakh pilgrims have had darshan of Baba Barfani. More than 4 lakh devotees have registered online for the pilgrimage so far. This 38-day-long Yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 9.
