Yellow Alert Issued, Heavy Rain Likely in Next Four Days
Dehradun : Uttarakhand is expected to face harsh weather conditions over the next four days, with the Meteorological Department issuing a Yellow Alert valid until July 19. Heavy rainfall is anticipated during this period. However, data from the first half of July indicates that overall rainfall in the state has been close to normal—188 mm being typical for this period, currently about 8% lower.
Bageshwar recorded the highest rainfall in the state so far this month, with nearly three times the usual amount. Chamoli ranked second, receiving 61% more rainfall than average. On the other hand, Haridwar recorded the lowest rainfall, at 69% below normal. Rainfall deficits were also noted in Champawat (-58%), Pauri Garhwal (-43%), and Nainital (-41%).
