Fare to Remain the Same from Monday to Friday, Rs 100 Hike on Weekends
Dehradun: If you wish to enjoy a ride through the scenic valleys of Doon, the railways have launched the ‘Bike on Rent Scheme’ under the ‘New and Innovative Non-Fare Revenue Scheme’ just for you.
Tourists visiting Uttarakhand’s capital, Dehradun, will no longer have to struggle for transport to explore nearby areas. From the counter next to the general category ticket center at the railway station premises, tourists can rent bikes and scooters for 24 hours to tour nearby tourist spots. The rental rates for scooters and bikes will remain the same from Monday to Friday for 24 hours, while on weekends – Saturday and Sunday – the rental price will increase by ₹100.
Over 15,000 passengers commute daily to and from various cities through Dehradun railway station, most of whom visit Dehradun for tourism. However, travelers often struggle to find transportation, and the available rental options tend to be expensive.
