Mussoorie online registration : Mussoorie to Mandate Online Registration for Tourists | Dehradun News
Mussoorie online registration : DEHRADUN, AUGUST 1, 2025: Planning a trip to the “Queen of the Hills”? If so, take note: tourists staying in Mussoorie will now be required to complete an online registration before their visit.
Following an order from the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Tourism Department has implemented this new system to manage the high volume of visitors. The registration is mandatory for all tourists staying in hotels, homestays, and guesthouses. Additionally, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras have been installed at all entry points to monitor vehicles entering the hill station.
The decision comes in response to the growing traffic congestion in Mussoorie, particularly during peak season and on weekends, when the town sees an influx of over 15,000 vehicles daily. To address this issue and improve crowd management, the NGT issued a set of guidelines.
The new online registration requires tourists to fill out a form with their name, contact number, vehicle number, accommodation details, and travel dates. Indian tourists will receive a one-time password (OTP) on their mobile phones for verification, while foreign tourists will receive it via email. After completing the registration, a QR code will be generated. This QR code must be presented at checkpoints located at Kimadi, Kempty Falls, and Kuthal Gate.
More than 30 hotels, homestays, and guesthouses have already registered on the Tourism Department’s portal, and the registration process is ongoing for other establishments.
